The gift

you once said....

"maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person..we'll know how to be grateful for the gift"

and i just want you to know that i'm sorry for taking you for granted.Though this may be a little late but I just want you to know that I'm forever grateful for the gift.

I just haven't met you yet

I'm Not Surprised
Not Everything Lasts
I've Broken My Heart So Many Times,
I Stop Keeping Track.
Talk Myself In
I Talk Myself Out
I Get All Worked Up
And Then I Let Myself Down.

I Tried So Very Hard Not To Loose It
I Came Up With A Million Excuses
I Thought I Thought Of Every Possibility

And I Know Someday That It'll All Turn Out
You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid That I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

Mmmmm ....

I Might Have To Wait
I'll Never Give Up
I Guess It's Half Timing
And The Other Half's Luck
Wherever You Are
Whenever It's Right
You Come Out Of Nowhere And Into My Life

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Baby Your Love Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Possibility

Mmmmm ......

And Somehow I Know That It Will All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

They Say All's Fair
And In Love And War
But I Won't Need To Fight It
We'll Get It Right
And We'll Be United

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Being In Your Life Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Single Possibility

Mmmm .....

And Someday I Know It'll All Turn Out
And I'll Work To Work It Out
Promise You Kid I'll Give More Than I Get
Than I Get Than I Get Than I Get

Oh You Know It'll All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid To Give So Much More Than I Get
Yeah I Just Haven't Met You Yet

I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Oh Promise You Kid
To Give So Much More Than I Get

I Said Love Love Love Love Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
Love Love Love .....
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

While I'm waiting

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord.

A simple song that speaks. I personally love this song and it's my prayer while I wait.
p/s: I love John Waller's voice!

Paris Hilton, a sales person?

If Paris Hilton were in sales, what would happen to the sales cycle? I wonder.I could only imagine.Take a rich, young and hot heiress like her and make her a salesperson, it'll all be about HER. Probably her ratio of sales success would be 0: 0, 110% Paris? At least it's genuine.

No doubt, I agree with Mike on what seem to her favorite subject and that would be herself. "Let's talk about me". (that's predictable isn't it? )

Nonetheless, Mike has a point in pointing out that there are far too many salesperson who are like that, enamored with their product or company when most smart salespeople let the customers do the talking themselves and their business and what your products or company can do for the customers.

I could recall when I first embark on the journey as a sales person, subconsciously I get all excited when I meet client. I tend to talk about our products, company and ourselves, neglecting the important bit: the client.

There's always two side of the coin . On the other hand, I believe that Paris would make a good sales person and marketer. She brands herself pretty well. I can't believe I'm saying this but she's innovative, finding ways to sell herself and her brand that resulted into different product lines ranging from album to perfumes. Great job on the extensions but not on the focus part. Not too bad for a person who talks about nothing but herself.

So, what do you think? I would like to hear.

The island

In a month, I'll be right here-

White sandy beach, crystal clear blue sea........

Enough said.

Goodbye.

You left without saying goodbye.
I wish I could find a way try not to cry.
Watching you being incinerate breaks my heart.
The road to send you off seem so long.
I wish you knew salvation.
It's so hard to accept the fact that you're gone forever.
Life goes on.
May you rest in peace.
I'll miss you.

Love,
Your granddaughter.

In loving memory of Lee Kim Peow.

With hope

The frail look on your face now leave my eyes in tears
It pains me to see how weak you've grown
It aches me even more to know you couldn't recognize me anymore
With those faded vision and impair hearing of yours makes it even harder for you
They say your kidney, heart and lung fails you
Standing there, holding your hand, wishing I could do something
Wishing I could ease your pain

You've always look scrawny but never this weak
You're a man with few words, making you unapproachable
But you were one of the first few man in my life
I could still remember. I could still recall how you love me
With your solid old blue Nissan, you used to bring me out with you every morning
Ordering my cold barley and kaya toast at your favourite kopitiam
Sacrificing your hard earned money just to give me a wonderful breakfast
Holding my little hands, driving me around town just to see me smile

You called me your favourite granddaughter
Others grew jealous of how close we were
You lightens up whenever you see me
You have a cute smile especially when you do not have those front teeth of yours
I'm glad I brought joy to your life just as how you've brought into mine

Mistakes and regrets, you said you have them all
Alas, we're only human and human are bound to make mistakes
That's the epitome of humans
Some were angry with what you've done
Some thinks you deserve this
Some find it hard to forgive you
But I've forgiven you

As stubborn as you're, I'm glad you live to see me graduate
83 years you've been blessed tremendously with the most loving wife
A wife who has always been by your side till the end
I wish to have a love like yours
Doctors said they can't do much
I pray that you'll find truth in life

Though I never say this often but I just want you to know that I love you, ah gong.

Targets!

In sales, targets are meant to help you set your direction. Some find high sales targets ridiculous, some find it useful to challenge oneself. Some find high sales targets pressuring.

I find my sales targets....
a) ridiculously high but not impossible
b) keep me to my feet-focus
c) challenging.

Nonetheless, i was blessed and flabbergasted when i was told that i've achieved and exceeded my Quater 1 sales target! (: My first reaction when my name was called- i sat there quietly.dazed.incoherent. i was praising HIM for all that HE has done. I was so afraid to take this route initially, so afraid of not being able to cope but HE proved to me that HE indeed has a plan for me! Thank YOU!

The achievers-
(showing off our reward)

How often do you get to take a picture with your Ceo?Not often.

conned

Twice in a month?! How naive! argh. i hate people who con ( using subtle strategy) people for living. I was nice enough to take pity on them and look what I've gotten in return? a thinner purse :( Nonetheless, i thank God it wasn't a large amount of money.

Reminder: i have to be extra vigilant next time.

On other note, i'm loving salsa! (: can't wait for every Tuesday to come so I can swirl, let loose and focus on somethingelse rather than work! The salsa heels? They're really pricey cause
a) made of leather
b) imported
c)They're light
d) enables you to swing, jump and kick!

You belong to me.

You belong to me
-Jason Wade-

See the pyramids around the Nile
Watch the sun rise
From the tropic isle
Just remember darling
All the while
You belong to me
See the market place
In old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember
When a dream appears
You belong to me

And I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too

Fly the ocean
In a silver plane
See the jungle
When it's wet with rain
Just remember till
You're home again
You belong to me

Oh I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too

Fly the ocean
In a silver plane
See the jungle
When it's wet with rain
Just remember till
You're home again
You belong to me

6 years from today yet this song reminds me of you.

Black.

I'm going with black (:

The $ales dogs.

Dogs!Today,I'm going to talk about them.

I've been reading this particular interesting book called "The sales dogs" by Blair Singer ( Rich Dad's advisor). Looking at the title, you would find yourself scratching your head wondering what dogs gotta do with sales? It doesn't make sense, does it?

However, taking up the new portfolio allows me to learn new things like this.
So, I've decided to summarize it for you.

Here it goes.

True selling means being passionate about your company’s product/service, and being compassionate with the wants, solving problems, dreams and needs of fellow human beings.

The breeds:

Pitt Bull

a) The most aggressive. Look at that face!

b) They attack with ferocity, aggression and tenacity. Well, why am I not surprise?

c) Strengths : Sheer power, fearlessness( make more calls, sell more and filed more rejections),directness.

d) Weaknesses: Lack of tactfulness, strategy and patience.

I could easily identify this with someone who's in the management level:P

Golden Retriever

a) Customer service is everything! Look at the adorable face, won't you succumb to their services?

b) They believe that the more given to prospects, they more they'll love them and ultimately buy more! won't you?

c) Strengths : Build life long loyal customers, constantly add value to services, taking objections and bend over backwards.

Poodle

a) Sophisticated, highly intelligence, conscious of looking marvelous, center of attention, life and soul of the party, a smooth operator- living in the fast lane.

b) Incredibly well - connected with most extensive and exclusive network.

c) Strengths: Impressive power of persuasion, consummate marketing, skilled in developing and implementing marketing tools/strategies.

Chihuahua

a) Incredibly bright, technical wizards, Intense hyperactive, passion for knowledge.

b) It's all about the facts, figures, data, market research and evidence.

c) Strengths : Great in delivering proof, able to alleviate fear, impart wisdom and confidence in the product.

d) Weaknesses: Very emotional and paranoid. haha!

Basset Hound

a) Faithful, constant, dependable, the "begging", sympathy strategy.

b) Seek personal connection.

c) Strengths: Integrity, consistency and trustworthiness. Build great long-term personal rapport.

Supermutt

awww...

a) Combination of more than one breeds.

b) Strengths : They understand their natural strengths and work towards acquiring favorable traits of other breeds.

c) Successful.

I want to be a supermutt! ( not literally)

After reading the book, I find myself having fun( annoying) identifying the breeds of my department peeps.
" You. The bull!", " Eh, you're a poodle! "

So, identify your breeds to help you maximize your strength and minimize your weaknesses.

Now, who say you can't sell?

Familiar?

Found this from one of my favourite marketing guru, Seth Godin. Ironic it may seem but I guess this is how one works or should i say life is.The busy, happy and prosperous vs the lonely, scared and bitter. The two extremes. Sound familiar? i bet.

So, which category are you in?

You have a choice. Go decide.

Updated!

Hello, peeps!

Happy Chinese Ox Year! (ah, my year *grins*) As promised. I'm finally updating this thing! Sue me. It's 2009 and I'm gonna be 24! The clock is ticking.

Yeah, I know I've been MIA for a bit. Blame it on work! Well, I know many of you have heard this from me probably a gazillion times? but once again, I would like to apologize for not being able to join you peeps for the many social activities planned. I feel bad.seriously. I will work out my social bit for '09, i promise.

I've been EXTREMELY busy with work.Gosh, I couldn't emphasize it more with the caps. Yes, work have been taking the life out of me especially with the gloomy economy situation."Oh boy, here she goes again....".I know many of you commented that I don't sound like a 23 . Instead, I sound so much older than my age! wouldn't know if it's an insult or a compliment. Nonetheless, I shall now refrain myself from talking about work.

Let's see. 2008 has past. Like every other years, I've done my part, reflecting.
So, here's a brief recap of 2008:-
  • Stepped into the working world. Trust me. It wasn't that fun after all.
  • Turned from a small town naive girl to a less naive(I would say, i'm a little street smarTER now)
  • Officially started baking and cooking.
  • Turned 23!
  • Met and be friends with Joel Neoh. I must say he's one humble chap, probably one of the nicest young entrepreneurs that I've ever met(:
  • Met Jeff from 98 Degree.
  • Met Alan Yun (:
  • Met Marion Counter
  • Met Mickey and Minnie mouse.
  • Met some overinflated self- importance clients.
  • Learned how to deal with people. Two-faced people, mind you.(Thank you for giving me the experience of working with you)
  • Learned how to handle office politics a little better.
  • Made great new friends from company
  • Stood up for myself
  • Started kick-boxing, latin dance and gym!
  • Started going back and forth into the dating scene.
  • Rejected great opportunities and awesome work offers. (darn, look how dumb i was back then)
  • Learned how to be a bigger person. Now, I finally know what's real forgiveness is like.
  • Learned how to handle stress and anger. Never knew I have that much anger in me till i started working. In need of a retail therapy and maybe an anger management?:P
  • From a direction noob to someone who can give directions. I've never driven so much in my life!
  • Kick start the contact lenses project. One of the highlight of my 2008.
  • Attended 3 weddings and a funeral.
  • Started a blog.
  • Traveled to Indonesia(for mission), Singapore, Hong Kong and Shenzen in a year
  • Owned a Coach bag (:

As for 2009, I want to be a little more optimistic! With optimism, even the hardest challenges would seem easy. So, peeps, be optimistic even with the sluggish economy situation and things will go your way (:
